Painting is at the heart of what I am and what I do.
I have practised it successively and in parallel as an exploration of the « real » in observational painting, as the representation of a real in free figuration or as a real construction in an exclusive approach to colour and gesture inscribed in the space of the canvas.
As a joy, a difficult game, a means of life.
Pictura est in ipso corde mei.
Hoc successive et simul exercui, vel ut explorationem ‘realitatis’ in picturis observationis, vel ut repraesentationem realitatis in figuratione libera, vel ut constructionem veram intra aditum qui solis colori et gestui in spatio teli inscriptis intenditur.
Peindre est au cœur de ce que je suis.
Je l’ai pratiqué succéssivement et parallèlement comme exploration du « réel » dans les peintures d’observation, comme représention d’un réel dans la figuration libre ou comme construction réelle dans une démarche exclusive de la couleur et du geste inscrit dans l’espace de la toile.
絵画は私という人間そのものであり、私の作品の核心を成しています。
私は、観察的絵画における「実在」の探求として、自由な具象表現における実在の表現として、あるいはキャンバスの空間に刻まれた色彩とジェスチャーへの専念的なアプローチにおける実在の構築として、これらを順次、また並行して実践してきた。
喜びとして、難解なゲームとして、そして生き方として。
